Master Zayelt served in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant for most of her life
Synyc Zayelt, one of the most esteemed and long standing Masters of the Coruscant High Council, joined the Force today after finally succumbing to an unknown illness that she had battled for three years. Medics say that while they are still awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine the precise nature of the disease, they suspect that her death was related more to the failing immune system of the centenarian Jedi Master than to the actual effects of any infection.
The Coruscant Temple released a statement saying:
While Jedi are generally well conditioned and able to live longer and healthier lives with the aid of the Force, let this serve as a reminder that no one is immortal to the many dangers of the universe.
Master Zayelt trained seven different Padawans during her lifetime, six reaching the rank of Jedi Knight, preferring to remain a teacher around the Temple on Coruscant rather than engage in heavy field work. However, she is noted for playing a key role in the Commonwealth War of Secession to minimize Alliance losses in 248 and 249 ABY, just before her health began to decline. Master Zayelt Knighted her final Padawan in 258 ABY and adopted no further students afterwards.
