277.01 // Jedi Watch Update
While Maloush Paroveid sits in imprisonment, the controversy surrounding the ancient institution continues as the Jedi Order has made headline news once again. This time, we must ask ourselves, “Are we safe?”. Jedi are hailed as the Guardians of the Galaxy, but we must all stop and consider whether we are truly safe in their hands or whether we are merely puppets to their will. That’s right. We learned of an incident earlier this cycle that quite frankly took us all here at GHN by surprise. Our field reporter Cral Wintres relives the moment on Corellia that he claims changed his life forever.
I thought nothing of it at the time. I met this, ‘Jedi’ in the passing as I was making my way back to the office. As far as I was concerned, we smiled in greeting and then we both went on our way. It wasn’t until later as I was wrapping up for the evening, that my camera man Jroan came bursting into my office with the footage we’d taken that day. What I saw shook me to the core. The footage showed a completely different set of affairs to what I recall. This Jedi was barking orders at me. It was almost as if he was directing my actions. And what was more alarming was that I was hanging on his every word. At one point he tells me that I want to, ’take off’ and go about my business and.. I repeat the words back to him and walk away. I can‘t explain it. It‘s almost as if he was in my mind. I feel violated. Naturally, I went straight to the authorities but they simply detained the Jedi and then let him go shortly after. That‘s CorSec for you.
We must ask ourselves, did this Jedi, who has since been identified as Kaelen Sekura, escape justice? Did he manipulate the fine officers at CorSec in the same way he manipulated our field reporter, Cral Wintres? More worrying still, is this standard protocol for the Jedi Order? Manipulate your way out of difficult or undesirable situations? Who knows. All we can say with certainty is that our trust in these, “Guardians of Peace” has been further shaken.
In other Jedi news, the incarcerated Jedi Layto Kosroa, who was arrested for misdeeds in the infamous speeder factory incident, was found dead yesterday in his private cell on Coruscant. Prison authorities claim that the cause of death was suicide by drowning, as the distraught soul made use of the shallow yet effective amount of water within his toilet to end his own life. The reasoning for this sudden death is unknown, as Kosroa exhibited no prior signs of depression or anything of a similar nature before his unfortunate deed.
That is all for tonight’s Jedi Watch. Stay tuned as we update you on the tides of action!
