The Empire has stunned the Republics top political and especially military personnel today with the official unveiling of its latest weapon of war. The Dark Trooper.
While technically not ‘new’, having first come into existence under the reign of Emperor Palpatine three-hundred years ago, the Dark Trooper program was ‘disbanded’ for unknown reasons, with very limited numbers ever seen to be used. The rumours of their participation in the closing stages of the “Attrition War” were confirmed today as being merely tests during the programs rebuilding as the first official units went into full active service today on Bastion.
The Dark Trooper, even during its testing stages, was claimed to be capable of laying waste to an entire city in only small numbers and the model has only been refined and improved over time. With claims of being able to carry among the heaviest and most deadly of trooper armaments and of possessing armour rumoured to be impervious to lightsabers, the unveiling of these “walking tanks” has caused no small level of concern for the Republics top generals. Should these Dark Troopers ever see en masse deployment in a theatre of war it is certain they would provide an almost unstoppable force for anyone hoping to oppose them. How the Empire has managed to fund the rebuilding of the Dark Trooper project is not yet known.
