Vohai
*****************************************************************************************************
The planet Vohai was previously a planet of little renown, despite its productive industrial that placed it within the top fifty most productive worlds of the Galactic Republic. Vohai is known for its industrial and its melting pot culture where many immigrant species have come to call the world home, many adopting the term ‘Vohaian’ in favour of their native names. Its diversity can be seen across its many regions, such as the Badlands and the Rone-Colony continent which is home to Little Rodia and the Rodian tribes.
It wasn’t until 378 ABY that Vohai found itself rising in prominence, not due to its industry but rather due to the civil unrest that began to amount on the planet in the face of a looming galactic recession. The civil unrest continued to amount, reports of both resistance and government brutalities began to arise. This ultimately led to the rise of the Vohai Revolutionary Council and the People’s Will, that would later perform a coup and usurp the Republic’s governing council on the world.
The year 387 ABY saw the beginnings of the Vohai Civil War, Mother Mu’la a native to the world led the Revolution while the Governor-General of Vohai at the time, Laa’ken Ruun led the offensive to restore the Galactic Republic’s hold on the world. The war itself would leave Vohai in a state of devastation, the tactics used by both factions only brought further destruction, whether it was the guerrilla tactics of the Revolution or the bombardment of infrastructure from orbit by the Republic Fleet. The Jedi would join the Vohai Civil War on the side of the Republic, offering their aid as commanders and soldiers.
389 ABY saw the promise of peace between both the Vohai Revolution, the Galactic Republic and its associated factions after many battles in its short two year span. A delegation of Jedi were chosen to lead the peace-talks between the many factions. The peace talks would end in failure with no conclusion or end to the war in sight, at least not peacefully. The Jedi’s involvement after two years would come to an end, with their service no longer needed and the course of the war now being left in the hands of the Republic and the Revolution.
390.01 would see the official end of the conflict with the death of Mother Mul’a and the surrender of the Vohai Revolutionary Forces. Two figures from the war would rise to prominence in its end; Grand Vizier Baa-lik of the C’olarien would claim the continent of Immin-Yuub and would begin the practice of slavery, despite the Republic laws. Chieftain Minni’in Nuum of Yyla-Roda who was an integral part of the Republic’s success in the war, now holds leadership over all Vohai Rodians, tribal or otherwise, with nefarious blood practices on the rise. Despite the end of the war, a new set of challenges would arise in the absence of war; the rebuilding of their world and the recovery from a great economic depression that would take many years to recover from.
