325.04 // Core Killer Caught!

Coruscant’s Security Force have solved the “Killer in the Core” case, subsiding fears of the serial killer in the quiet yet aristocratic suburb in sector 0023.

Security were seen with renown Jedi Investigator, Jao Ryn, who earlier today left the “Tatooine Suns Condominiums and Spa” with alleged serial killer who has been identified as Xen Kedrim.

Chief Locier said at a press conference that ‘they were able to identify the serial killer as Xen Kedrim due to Master Ryn’s ability to scrutinize evidence with a sharp mind and flare of the Force.’

Xen Kedrim, 62, has a history of domestic abuse, specifically beating his wife to death under the accusation that his wife cheated on him with a member of the law enforcement.

When security stormed into the condominium, law enforcement, with the aid of Ryn, were able to find an unlicensed blaster that the security force have evidence to believe to be the murder weapon.

Xen Kedrim has been arrested for first-degree murder. He is currently awaiting trial with the foreboding judgement of possible death.

Until then, the Galaxy will be holding its breath as we wait for the most anticipated trial of the decade to ensue.

A serial killer is on the loose, blasting down spouses of respected law enforcement figures on doorsteps, say security forces on the capital world of Coruscant.

Residents in the higher levels of Coruscant, in the wealthy section 0023, were warned today as new evidence linking several murders emerges.

Law enforcement announced yesterday, the death of Kiro Kem, who was found dead with lethal blaster burns, is being investigated in connection with two other unsolved murders that took place in similar circumstances just blocks from each other. Kem’s wife, a venerable officer on the security force, refused to comment.

Security Chief Kenvar Locier said at a press conference that they suspect Kem’s killer was also responsible for the murder of Vanara Lox (last year) and Syelk Cerso (two cycles ago).

Ballistics results for the murders confirm common impact zones and blaster residue for the three cases. However, Locier wouldn’t say for certain whether the same weapon was used in all three shootings.

‘The cases appear to be linked, but until we have evidence to point to only one suspect, we will investigate all possibilities,’ Locier said.

All three murders took place at the same time of day after the victims presented themselves at the front door.

Law enforcement officers are currently looking for an older, humanoid man.

No motive has been established for any of the killings, which law enforcement officers fear may spark chaos in the community. Locier said this afternoon that residents should be vigilant and should avoid answering their door for strangers, but warned that no-one overreact. So far, residents have taken the warning relatively well.

There have been rumors that the security force may seek Jedi aid; however, no validation to such a claim has been made as of yet.

325.01 // The Galaxy’s Latest

Recently in galactic news..

Republic listening stations have recently reported sighting an Imperial battle-fleet crossing the Republics borders. While this would ordinarily signal an invasion on the Empires part, the stations report having lost sight of the armada as it was heading westward into the Unknown Regions. Both the Council of Grand Moffs and the Emperor himself refuse to comment.

Negotiations between Republic diplomats and Mandalorian clan leaders could potentially be drawing to a close, according to inside sources. While nothing is certain about what has been discussed over the past few years of talks, it is rumoured that a place in the Republic Senate may be offered to this infamously independent of worlds. As usual both the current Mandalore as well as his chieftains are tight-lipped for now, as is the Republic Senate.

Referendums are expected in the coming cycles on the worlds of Ord Biniir and Ord Canfre as the peoples of both worlds decide on whether they want to secede from the Republic and formally join the Empire. Apparently the falling standards of the economy in the region as well as increasing levels of piracy are causing the governments of both worlds to look for, as they put it, ‘more secure and determined alternatives to a collection of high-class, disconnected senators living on Coruscant.’

324.11 // Bank Robbery on Corellia

Early this morning, heavily armed men executed a robbery on one of Coronet’s major banking and loan centers with a lightsaber-wielder reportedly leading the band.

We were able to acquire this statement from one of the bank tellers who was in transit to being processed by local authorities:

“I was in mid discussion with a client when a substantial chunk of the bank was blown right off! Everyone dropped to the floor and it wasn’t long before four men, one of which was a Jedi I think, broke into the bank through the rubble! He was  holding one of those colorful swords the Jedi are known for. Lightsabers, I believe?

A fight broke out. The man with the lightsaber blocked incoming shots as he charged and eventually cut several guards right down, before his accomplices blasted down the rest!

Soon after, one of the robbers held one of my colleagues at gun point, ordering her to shut down the security system to the vault or he’d take her out! She complied, and by doing that these thugs were able to gain access to everything that was held in the vault.

They took a only small amount of what was in there, but it was all worth substantial credits nonetheless. They knew CorSec would be coming in on them soon. They left the scene, and well… that’s the last I saw of them! CorSec came charging in several minutes later, but it was already too late. The Jedi and his cohorts made off with our client’s credits.

At least most of us are alive, right?”

Coronet is currently on high security alert until these men are caught.

Neither CorSec or the Jedi Order have released any statement on the matter as of yet; however, it is believed (although not presently confirmed) that CorSec is deliberating with the Jedi Order on the case.

Is this yet another example of Jedi negligence in regard to keeping track of those who leave their Order? You decide.

Hoping to keep the Galaxy informed, this is Ular Tenn…

Signing off.

322.28 // Civil War Erupts On Iridonia

Iridonia

As issues for the Republic continue to accumulate, a recent warning to wayfarers of Republic space was issued regarding one of two home worlds to the Zabraki culture, Iridonia. While the planet and its people are often described as an introverted race, Republic Naval Officials today announced its controversial move to establish a temporary blockade around the system that will act as a military picket line, regulating relief supplies entering the system and ensuring no materials are sent down that could potentially fuel the conflict. With information concerning casualties limited, there has been confirmation that the Shar’Vintash clan was wiped out completely. There were no known survivors, making them the first major loss in the confrontation.

Four other larger clans are known to the region; those of the Be’Tominyet, the Ul’Narit, the Rak’Slaret and the Tul’Vyi. During the senatorial meeting earlier today in which the incident was brought to public light, it was made clear that the situation on Iridonia is becoming an ever growing problem. With the conflict not showing signs of subsiding, trade routes between the four warring parties have become the cause of further aggression rather than co-operation.

The Officer of the Republic’s Naval Operation over Iridonia, Lexther Rom, has urged all traversing the system to steer clear of Iridonia in his public statement: “Until tensions ease we cannot emphasize enough the dangers caused by the instability in the region. If you can, stay away.”

With strict sanctions placed on those entering Iridonia, the planet’s economy faces a catastrophic decline that experts say will take a generation to repair.
