277.26 // Mygeeto All But Lost to Invading Forces, Legitimacy of Chiss Involvement Still in Question

Mygeeto Battle

Destructive Evidence of Battle on the Outskirts of Jygat, Likely a Product of Artillery Fire

To begin, we would like to apologize to the residents of planets within the Gordian Reach, as it seems our latest transmission regarding prior events on Mygeeto were not received completely by most receivers. In recap, Mygeeto was reported to be invaded by Chiss forces, and that Commonwealth forces had been sent to recapture the planet. However, in the short time passed since our first report, rumors and various photos have added to the argument that Commonwealth forces have been steadfastly defeated, with death tolls already in the tens of thousands. However, these few reports are all that GHN, and even the Commonwealth itself, can use in order to extract information.

It seems Commonwealth forces outside of the immediate area of Mygeeto are at a loss in terms of identifying the amount of Chiss forces present in the invasion, in addition to the actual legitimacy of these forces being of the official order of the Chiss Ascendancy. Most transmissions out of Mygeeto have presumably been intercepted, leaving military command on Telos, let alone Naboo on the other side of the Galaxy, in a state of utter confusion. While the Ascendancy itself continues to remain silent on the matter, Galactic Alliance intelligence has only reported that on 277.24, invading forces crossed free space in Alliance territory, subsequently dropping out of hyperspace upon reaching the Commonwealth planet of Mygeeto. While this report seems to be legitimate, analysts have cast the supposition that the Alliance may be withholding information from the rest of the Galaxy.

277.25 // Civil Disorder on Mygeeto

Following a distress signal issued by a vessel registered to the Commonwealth last standard afternoon, GHN has learned that a military strike has cost the lives of many Commonwealth soldiers stationed on Mygeeto. Eyewitnesses say that the battle “included a large band of Chiss militia”, although the extent of their involvement is unknown.

The Chiss Ascendancy has provided no comment on the alleged attack, but government heads on Naboo have assured the public that while Mygeeto has suffered a disturbing attack, forces were in transit to recapture control of Mygeeto.

Relief agencies currently at work in Mygeeto have fled in panic. Th- – …  [Connection Severed]

277.23 // GHN LiVE

GHN LiVE

GHN LiVE at 2100

Welcome to GHN LiVE, where we cover the biggest stories of the day and give you the facts without the spin. Let’s take you around the Galaxy in less than two minutes!

Jedi Temple, Galactic City, Coruscant – Protestors gather on the steps of the Jedi Temple over controversy surrounding multiple grievances committed by Jedi Knights throughout the Galaxy, including most prominently the recent murder of Mandalore Jhil Beviin. Shouts calling for the disbanding of the Jedi Order on Coruscant were a constant as police forces kept the crowd at bay. Only one arrest was made in the form of seizing a violent Human man who launched a large container of alcohol at a passing Jedi Padawan.

Rwookrrorro, Kashyyyk – Galactic Alliance forces are reporting consistent success against rebel battalions on Kashyyyk, as more and more of the aggressing Trandoshans are being pushed into the recluse of mountain strongholds. Alliance commanders say an end to the war may be in sight within the year, or even sooner if the elusive General Crerniss can fall into capture.

Jygat, Mygeeto – Aid 4 Mygeeto, a private relief foundation headed by chairman Kleiara Talish, is reporting significant monetary donations being taken in from citizens from all over the Galaxy. Amidst this notice of good news however, the organization is also reporting difficulties in extending relief to the poorest of Jygat’s inner city, as gang warfare runs rampant, a danger to citizens and relief workers alike. Calls for a boost to Jygat’s police force have been made, even so far as requesting the aid of the Jedi Order.

That’s all for tonight’s GHN LiVE. We report, you decide!

277.20 // A Journalist’s Perspective

As I looked upon the funeral proceedings of the fallen Mandalore, a sense of sorrow came upon me like the thrusting air of a winter storm acquainting itself in surprise. Though I felt sadness for the death of a popular figure, the whole scene of seeing other galactic leaders such as Aquitenne and Selanne implored me to think on the broader scale of our civilization. From a distant view, the Galaxy is prosperous. There is relative peace in comparison to war, and grand economic prosperity in comparison to financial ruin. While most of us carry with us this particular perception, the minority of negativity within existence should still be recognized with respect. While Corellia houses the needy and saves lives, events on Kashyyyk tear out the hearts of thousands. While Bastion witnesses the rising of new businesses, Mygeeto struggles to barely keep half of their institutions aloft in mediocrity.

We turn a blind eye to the worst in the Galaxy, but we are naturally predisposed to do so.

277.18 // Mandalore Assassinated at Hands of Jedi

Jhil Beviin

Jhil Beviin: 240.11 - 277.17

Breaking and unfortunate news has just hit our stations in the Outer Rim territories. It seems Jhil Beviin, head of state and warrior monarch of the Mandalorian race, is dead by means of assassination from an unidentified Jedi on the planet of Bandomeer, executed yesterday evening.

Shockwaves have quickly penetrated across the region and Galaxy as revelations of the death of the befallen leader rapidly enter the startled minds of galactic citizens. On-hand reports say that during a routine speech being dictated to Mandalorian citizens, a cloaked Jedi blasted through the dense crowd of spectators armed with an ignited blue lightsaber in hand. Though guards and servicemen alike quickly fired upon the approaching aggressor, the volleys from their blasters were steadfastly deflected and reflected in stunning fashion. Before any new attempts at stopping the Jedi could commence however, the Jedi sprung onto the podium and, with a single strike of the lightsaber, decapitated Beviin and ended her life with planned intent. The assassin quickly escaped the scene in a blur, and despite efforts to prevent their fleeing of the system, mounted a starfighter and blasted out of the system, using the paralysis of the stunned crowd to their advantage.

Efforts to catch the fleeing assassin in space have regrettably failed, as the time of departure and subsequent pursuit were too far-spread to permit accurate tracking. The face of the Jedi was never revealed, and only by the structure of their body did spectators assume that the killer was most plausibly a well-built man.
