277.05 // Trandosha Sends Order of Retreat, Forces on Kashyyyk Fail to Comply

Everything appeared optimistic when the leadership of Trandosha surrendered to the will of the Galactic Alliance. In accordance with their cooperation with the federal government, military heads of the planet ordered that all stationed troops on Kashyyyk immediately return to their deployment ships and promptly return home. Instead, General Crerniss, the head commander of all military operations on Kashyyyk, belayed the order and proclaimed that his superiors were “weak and easily molded”, and that he and his forces would not retreat until the war had been won. Upon receiving the message, the once-confident hearts of Alliance admirals sunk sluggishly, as they soon prepared their troops for battle.

Despite the total compliance of the Trandoshan government, it warned that their leaders on Kashyyyk were head-strong and very traditional, and that it was possible that a total retreat may not occur easily. While several commanders remained loyal to the wishes of the planetary government and set off to return to Trandosha, most of the shuttles leaving the system were shot down by the rebel Trandoshans, as only one medical frigate made the trip home safely. In response, the Galactic Alliance has switched to its backup plan to send troops en masse in hopes of defeating the treasonous leaders to at last bring peace to the system.

277.04 // Galactic Alliance Sends Naval Fleet to Trandosha

GA Fleet

The Galactic Alliance Fleet Over Commenor Before Departure

Breaking news today out of Coruscant as Chief of State of the Galactic Alliance Caden Aquitenne has announced that a sizable naval fleet has been sent from Commenor to Trandosha in hopes of putting an end to the Trandoshan occupation of Kashyyyk. The move, said to have the sponsorship of both Senator Khindaar of Kashyyyk and Senator Yuhossk of Trandosha, was finally given the green light after lengthy talks within the Senate. Here is a brief explanation of the bold decision from Chief of State Aquitenne:

After arduous and unfruitful talks within the Senate, the realization that the time for deliberation and traditional options for diplomacy were beginning to draw to a close, as more and more Alliance citizens were perishing needlessly by the minute. The decision to send a large fleet to Trandosha has been made in hopes that our Trandoshan friends will make the sound decision to return from Kashyyyk and end the unnecessary bloodshed that has continued in a non-sentient fashion. Senator Yuhossk has implored that his people give the order to immediately withdraw from battle so that the grace of civility may once again shine through the greatest federation of the Galaxy.

277.03 // Trandoshan Detention of Jedi Leads to Backlash

As several battles rage between the defending Wookiees and the aggressing Trandoshans, the Jedi Order has once again managed to cause harm to others. However, unlike recent stories from the past, the negative eye of the Galaxy is not entirely focused on the Jedi, but rather on the Trandoshans who managed to detain a member of their Order. Following the interception of a Jedi shuttle from Kashyyyk, the Trandoshan military detained the lone inhabitant as a prisoner of war, despite the standing neutrality of outside factions. In an apparent attempt to reclaim their compatriot, Jedi diplomats were sent to Kashyyyk where the detainee was currently being held.

Following the arrival of the Jedi at the Trandoshan base, there is little-documented proof of what specifically occurred during the talks, as we are relying solely on the claims made by the present Trandoshans. However, what is factually known is that the Jedi eventually freed their comrade by force, killing multiple soldiers and taking a Trandoshan diplomat hostage as they fled the system, eventually releasing the unharmed diplomat on a station orbiting Togoria before exiting the sector. Naturally, the Trandoshans have cried out against the Jedi for their violence, as they have a justified stance against death. However, while the acts of these Jedi are not seen well by the Galaxy, so too is the Trandoshan invasion of Kashyyyk.

277.01 // Jedi Watch Update

Jedi Temple

The Jedi Temple

While Maloush Paroveid sits in imprisonment, the controversy surrounding the ancient institution continues as the Jedi Order has made headline news once again. This time, we must ask ourselves, “Are we safe?”. Jedi are hailed as the Guardians of the Galaxy, but we must all stop and consider whether we are truly safe in their hands or whether we are merely puppets to their will. That’s right. We learned of an incident earlier this cycle that quite frankly took us all here at GHN by surprise. Our field reporter Cral Wintres relives the moment on Corellia that he claims changed his life forever.

276.31 // Takeover of Turbolaser Tower Leads to Successful Invasion

Turbolaser

File Photo of the Pivotal Turbolaser Tower

Following the stunning success of the Wookiee blockade against Trandoshan forces, rapid talks of peace began to thunder in the chambers of the Senate on Coruscant before more action would occur. Despite the passion of the politicians to end this conflict as soon as possible, a problem lay in the number of proposals, which ultimately led to a failure to come to a middle ground before a second invasionary force was sent from Trandosha.

Though smaller in size compared to its predecessor, the Trandoshan fleet was minutely less formidable. By learning from their tactical mistakes in the past, the maneuvering was more successful on the part of the Trandoshans. Even still, the Wookiee blockade remained stalwart in its defenses, reluctant to give any space to their enemy. However, the decisive variable of the battle would not be found in space, but rather on the earth of Kashyyyk itself.
