354.12 // Power Flux Hits Rannon

powerflux

Immara Capital news reporting – An unprecedented power flux has occurred since the late hours of last night. Power across various settlements has been intermittently lost. It is cautioned to remain inside your settlements while the situation is being handled, to stock candles and foodstuffs. More details from our reporter, Siri Manova:

“This is Siri Manova reporting in from Maritez!

It has been noted that power outages have occurred in many settlements across Rannon! Citizens have noted times of complete darkness from the late night hours! While some of the larger settlements are experiencing major setbacks, the smaller settlements appear to be finding themselves brought to a standstill, without the required power to run their usual day to day appliances. Businesses have had to close during the hours of power downtime, and some have found their productions brought to a complete halt!

Nothing like this has been seen since the Great Blackout of 278 ABY! Marvelous, isn’t it? While this has hardly been a black out, many report that power is intermittently active, sometimes disappearing from minutes at time, to hours! Though, one report has mentioned the complete loss of power for five hours.

Officials from the Immara Power Limited have responded, saying power will be restored and running as smooth as an aiwha’s back any day now. Security officials have not yet deemed this loss of power as sabotage, but rather, the very rare occasion of power failure. Here’s hoping to better, brighter days where our caf machines will pump their glorious liquid, and our shops wild with customers!

This is Siri Manova, your ever present news reporter, chasing news right back to you. Back to you, Immara Capital News.”

Yes.. thank you Siri. Always a pleasure.

352.12 // Cooperative Government of Rannon appoints new Senator

announce

It’s not often a politician dies from old age whilst still in office, but it is an undeniable testament to the dedication, conviction and stability that Oro Eewman brought to his role as Senator of Rannon.

His death at the age of 86, after over 35 years as Rannon’s voice in the senate, comes as no real surprise. In fact, his replacement, Tinales Jenkitt, 33, was selected unanimously by the councilors of the The Cooperative Government of Rannon several years ago, and had been shadowing Oro in his final years in order to ensure a smooth transition when the time came.

After she was officially appointed as the Senator of Rannon today, Senator Jenkitt had this to say.

“My first address as the Senator of Rannon was always going to be a bittersweet day. Last night, I was present at the death of a dear friend, renowned politician, and inspirational leader. If I began to list what Oro Eewman did for this planet I would be stood here for many cycles to come. However, what I will say about Senator Eewman is simple, never has anyone embodied the spirit of Rannon and its people as much as he did. When he fought in the senate, he did so for every man, women and child that calls this great planet home.

I am all too aware that I have been tasked by the Cooperative Government of Rannon to replace the truly irreplaceable. To those who may doubt my age and my experience, I will only ask one thing of you, please do not doubt my passion.

Oro often lamented about how he wished to visit the people he represented more often, as he had done when he was first elected and it is in his wish, where I will begin my journey. I aim to visit every city, settlement and outpost, from the north to south, from east to west and the deepest valleys to the tallest mountains.

I represent Rannon. I represent Oro and I represent you.

Thank you.”

Several eyewitnesses spotted smoke rising from near the Tooini River in the north of the nature reserve earlier today. Specialist fire fighting forces have already been called into attempt to contain the fire. As of yet, there are no reports of anyone killed or injured by the blaze and it is suspected that no foul play was involved in starting the fire.

Specialists predict that the fire should be contained within a few days and that Endan Nature Reserve should be reopened to the public again shortly after.

An unexpected turn of events transpired one lonely evening in Little Creek Village, Rannon. Notable village elder Morgan Vill reports that his home was broken into and ransacked while he was away on business. He is unsure as to who is responsible or why this has happened, though he is certain that the criminal who did it will be apprehended in little to no time thanks to the top-notch Rannon security force.

Little Creek Village is indeed just that, a little village surrounded by a nearby creek, meaning that the suspect is likely to be in the village itself. Several things of note were reported missing, among them are: antique silverware, rare Wroshyr wood, and over 1,200 credits in other missing wares. The full scope of what has gone missing is still unknown as reports still come in from Mr Vill.

Authorities have released a suspect profile and are urging witnesses to come forward.
