Initiate

Homeworld: Nar Shaddaa

Species: Human/Zelosian

Biography

Born on the smuggler’s moon, Linken was born to a Zelosian father and Human mother. Whether by choice or bad luck, his parents owed a large deal of money to a local crimelord in their district and often left Linken alone when he was old enough to fend for himself as they worked merciless hours to pay a seemingly unpayable debt.

As time went on and Linken grew, he found himself getting acquainted with many locals, learning about the galaxy and what more there was off Nar Shaddaa. He also found himself befriending local children, some of which lived fairly normal lives, wheras others were orphaned by a variety of reasons. Linken befriended many of them, growing very close with one girl, Vicria Taa.

One evening as Linken walked her home, her drunken mother’s boyfriend violently approached them and demanded that she go with him immediately. When Linken confronted the man, the man immediately threw a fist at him, grabbed Vicria by the arm and ran to an area with a treacherous walkway.

As Linken tried to save Vicria, the man threw a punch which Linken caught, using a strength he didn’t realize he had, when a Jedi Knight approached the struggling trio with his hand overstretched, then assisting Linken with pushing the man off him. Linken immediately ran to the Jedi, and almost in an instant after turning around, the man threw Vicria over the railing, plummeting to the Nar Shaddaa depths.

Shocked at the man’s actions, the Jedi drew his saber as the man drew a pistol. In a blinding flash, the bolt intended for the Jedi ended up searing a large hole in the man’s chest, the man collapsed after.

The Jedi took Linken home where he briefly explained what happened, and the potential he sensed in Linken when he tried to fight off his attacker. His parents immediately agreed to allow Linken to train as a Jedi, wanting a better life for their son. Hesitant to go, Linken’s parents consoled him, and urged him to follow this path, and encouraged him that no matter what, to not worry about them.
